Listening To The Greats And Making Your Own Statement
As we all have, I have listened to others and this is always the best way to learn. Amongst my favourites are:
Peter Green
Son House
Bukka White
Muddy Waters
Fred McDowell
The Rolling Stones
Eric Clapton
Ry Cooder
Little Feat
John Fahey
Howlin' Wolf
You should all listen to players such as those listed above, however here are some hints.
1. Listen but do not copy.
2. Try to be there with the emotion.
3. Its all about developing your own technique.
4. Blues is myth.
5. So what would be your myth, where is your emotion, what technique do you need to develop on your guitar, to make your own individual statement?
All the above players have successfully solved the problems of working through these processes.
